Drastically simplified forms accentuate the rich spatial complexity of this house and studio in Stuttgart Germany by C18 Architects.
Layers of interlocking volumes are penetrated with with secondary spatial connections that pass through the dominant volumetric configuration. These penetrations and transitions are accentuated through the use of elementary shape, color and material. The details are so elegantly reduced, and materials implemented so carefully, the interaction between these ingredients manifests through raw volumes that are irreducible, evoking the most basic, carnal human emotions.
